How to Write, Publish & Sell Your 1st Book Seminar
Yesterday, I joined several Washington area writers at the How to Write, Publish & Sell Your 1st Book Seminar. It was unlike any seminar or writers workshop I ever experienced. Tracye McQuirter, our gracious host and author of the national best-seller By Any Greens Necessary, not only imparted insider know how for writers but provided a delicious organic and vegan lunch! Alongside Tracye was National Literary Agent Audra Barrett and Self-Publishing expert Kyra Hicks to share their knowledge about the constant changing publishing industry and how to thrive in it.
In 5 hours, I took in a lot of rich material; I got a better understanding of my niche and who the audience would be for my book; how to write a winning book proposal and marketing plan to land an agent and traditional publisher; I learned that self-publishing isn’t as bad as it used to be; and I also learned how to plan a book tour. Moreover, I got answers to my personal writing, publishing, and selling questions while networking with fellow area authors.
I’ve attended several writer workshops at local universities and at the Writers Center, but these experiences (which helped me tremendously) could not lend themselves to the intimate and exclusive feel of this workshop nestled in the author’s home.
And I’m not just saying this because I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Tracye before her book was published. She has a generous spirit and a down to earth approach to helping other writers reach their goals. It is an honor and a pleasure to learn from Tracye, a trailblazer and a woman that I admire. I am proud of Tracye and wish her continued success!
