Black Authors & Readers Rock FeatureCerece Rennie Murphy lives and writes just outside of her hometown, Washington, DC. In addition to completing the Order of the Seers trilogy, Cerece is also developing a children’s book series titled Enchanted: 5 Tales of Magic in the Everyday and a book on understanding marriage/relationship advice for single women entitled More Than the Ring. To learn more about the author and her upcoming projects, visit www.crmurphybooks.com. Advice for Aspiring AuthorsI give the same piece of advice that Trice Hickman gave to me when I was starting out: 'Believe in your story.' There will be many highs and lows along your journey to tell and share your story. The one thing that has gotten me through each trial is my belief in the characters in my book and their journey. I knew they deserved my best efforts and that belief moved me forward when fear and doubt wanted to shut me down. Connect with Cerece Murphy:Author Website: www.crmurphybooks.com

I couldn't agree more. I am a published author too that is a biography, but still I had to believe in myself.

Hi John, thanks for your interest! I am working on the first book in the Enchanted series now, titled The Dragon Slayer. It's about a little girl who must learn self-control in order to "slay" the dragon that is terrorizing her home. I'm having a ball writing it, but children's books are much harder to write then I thought they would be!

Hi Sherminita! Thanks for your interest in my work. More than the Ring is a book near and dear to my heart. I can't wait to finish it and share some of my hard-earned thoughts and insights about how we, as women, approach relationships. And I am working on the first book in the Enchanted Series right NOW!

That's a great perspective, and believing in her story is a deep reflection of how she believes in herself as a person and an author. Sharing!!!

Hi Don, thanks so much for your comment and for sharing this post. I have to say that my characters have forced me to believe in myself more than I ever have had to in my life. They have required me to grow more fully into myself and I am grateful to them for it.
