Advice for Aspiring Authors

"Write about a topic that will capture the interest or the imagination of the masses.  Many times, aspiring authors want to write about something very personal to themselves while neglecting to consider whether or not their subject matter has a broader perspective and mainstream interest. If your intent is to create a popular read, an aspiring author would do well to keep this important tidbit in mind!"

I like the tip about thinking not only of your own story but how to make this relevant to a wider audience - too often we forget this.

Well I am not so sure I agree but he is the expert. If I was to write a book, it would have to be something I was passionate about and I would hope that would create the interest for others.

Well that was an interesting comment that he made and I'm not sure I agree 100% with that but I will ponder it over the weekend. I think artists, musicians and writers create their works for the sheer pleasure of it and because it IS personal. Appealing to the masses is a bonus.

It's interesting to see the different advice that the authors give and their differing points of view. It looks like Bey is really making a name for himself.

I think when anybody is creating or writing, it needs to be personal. It has to come from within or I don't think it will connect with people.

That is such a great tip for writers, the same is true in entrepreneurship, a lot of times people want to do a business regarding something they are passionate about, but it doesnt always translate over well, if your passion is not something that a lot of people would need/want.

Great advice, while knowing what interests you and inspires you is important, you cannot turn it into money if it doesn't interest others first.
